Braggart

Thursday afternoon, when we were leaving school, Henry helped open the hall door.  Then he declared, "I'm gettin' big!  As big as Evan and Anna... and even as big as Stacy!"  Delusions of  grandeur, anyone?

The moves

We're packing for our get away, and Henry is making it hard to imagine leaving him for a few days...

I just love this one...

Henry loves a good peperoni!

Dinosaurs on the Beach

Nana loaded up her house with toys for Henry to play with when he visits, including lots of dinosaur figures.  He took a bag of them to the beach, and they were the hit of his Fourth of July weekend.
Here's the highlight for us:  Both Daddy and Joel spotted a shark jump out of the water, securing our position on the sand for the rest of the afternoon.  The next day, July 4th 2010, Henry, Daddy, and I ventured out into the water where Henry loved, loved splashing in the waves.  All shark thoughts aside, it was a good day of salty water play.

The Second of July Parade

There was a cute, cute, cute parade at the yW on July 2nd.  Cory did a great job of capturing the whole affair, but I'm partial to the images of Henry's class and, of course, Henry.

Preparing to parade...
Parading...

Regrouping...

Celebrated and Dedicated in Alabama

Quite often over the past few weeks, Henry proudly announces, "I'm a cousin!"  You can't blame him for the hubris.  After all. being Evan, Anna, and Ryleigh's cousin entails...

Popsicles
Dueling bedtime books
Birthday parties with bowling
Cool games
A crazy treehouse
Spiderman cupcakes
and equally delicious Princess cupcakes
requested and decorated by the cutest four year old
followed by Ryleigh's dedication
and general debauchery.

Family Time

There's a Catch-22 to blogging.  There more you do, the more you want to blog--the more I want to capture the memories.  But, then, the more you do, the less time you have to blog!  I'm afraid I failed to keep up recently, but I'm going to post this picture to sum up the past few weekends...

Family!
The opportunity to witness my cousin Kelly's family expansion gave us a chance to see not only some new family members but those we haven't seen in a very long time, too.  You really just can't beat the union of two families to remind us of the significance and usefulness of family.  They make us laugh and remember who we are.  I am glad that our supportive and loving families will always help Henry remember to laugh at himself!

Henry, Daddy, and I are very fortunate to get to spend a good amount of time with family even though some are spread more than just a couple of hours away... I'm going to try to capture the time!

Hoop Dreams

What's the name of the game where you hit golf balls while wearing basketball team logos?
Or strike the basketball with golf clubs?
And when you make awesome basketball poses in awesome gear?
(He looks a bit like an Indian princess here.)
It's called The Waiting for James Game.  The winning team will be announced at 9:00 EST... or sometime before 10:00'ish.  It seems that the sheer anticipation of which team superhuman LeBron James will pick to grace his skills upon took over our household.
Go Knicks!  And thanks for the perfect gear, Joel and Allison.  We would be at a loss for The Waiting for James Game outfits were it not for you.

I'm just sayin'

He did it again, folks... slept through the night without the bi.  I'm proud of him!
