The silliest trick goes to...

Can you believe our little entertainer?

And the cutest word so far goes to...

This word won due to the cutest little lilt to it.  I just love it!

Snow Day, Fun Day!

Henry got to try his hand at walking through what looks like 5 or 6 inches of snow today, and he did quite well.  Here's  a quick video of him walking with Daddy.

We're all warm and toasty inside and eating turkey sandwiches and lima beans right now.  It's only noon, so who knows what else is in store?

Let it Snow!

We have snow!

We thought that today might be our last chance to let Henry experience snow, so we headed to Asheville after church this morning.  Henry fell asleep right after we crossed the NC border which also happened to be when the snow covered the ground and the highway.  We took the closest exit and headed back home.

However, we got our own snow fall and had a blast playing in it already!  It continues to fall, so we will keep you posted on Henry's enjoyment.  So far, he likes watching the flakes, playing with the neighborhood dogs, and trying to walk in the slosh.  He is not a fan of the taste, though.

Penny: 15 Henry: 0

Henry had his 12 month well visit a couple of weeks ago, and he gained very little weight since his last weigh-in, putting him still just under 20 pounds.  Dr. Song assures us that he's perfectly healthy--just long and thin.  Keep in mind that he's still in the 85th percentile for length, so, yes, he is a tall and skinny kid.

On the other hand, though, our first child, Penny, is packing on the pounds!  Some of you know that Penny gained 9 pounds when I was pregnant with Henry, and at her recent checkup, we discovered that she gained an additional 6 pounds for a total of 15 in one year!

Poor girl never lost the baby weight.  Wonder why she packed on the additional pounds, though?  Hmmmmm...

See?

We made a point to take Henry for a professional photo shoot at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months. It was a great idea, in theory, but it ended up costing us quite a bit of money. We take him to Portrait Innovations where the ongoing special is great--costs only $9.99. They sure know what they are doing, though. Between two outfits and the background changes along with a photogenic Henry, it's really hard not to buy a ton of photos.

Here's a "snapshot" of the session. You can totally see why it's so hard to choose and why we walk out with so many photos!
